Talking about time at the Portobello Book Festival

It was a huge pleasure to take part in the Portobello Book Festival on Saturday, joining my friend and fellow author Emma Steele for a conversation about concepts of time and our novels.
Our panel, “It’s About Time!”, took place at Portobello Library and was expertly chaired by Joanne Baird of the Portobello Book Blog. We talked about the different ways time appears in our writing, from Erica in Turn Back Time having to act as a young woman although she’s middle aged to Emma’s time-flipping in The Love of our Lives. I also spoke briefly about how I play with time again in my upcoming novel The Redo.
It was lovely to have such a packed room and such an engaged audience, and as you can see from the pics we had a lot of laughs too.

Emma and I have known each other for a couple of years and it was brilliant to share the event with her. We also signed books together in the pop-up shop provided by The Portobello Bookshop.
Thank you to the Portobello Book Festival team for putting together such a brilliant programme, to Joanne for chairing our conversation, and to everyone who came along.
